What Can I Expect During My First Visit to a Chiropractor?
WELCOME TO OUR OFFICE. We understand that this is your first to our office, and new patients may have many unanswered questions on their minds. Your confidence in us as a health care provider is the best compliment we can receive. We will do our best to make you feel at ease, and to answer any questions that you may have. In return, we ask for your cooperation.
To insure your first visit is a pleasant one, here are the procedures you can expect during this visit.
1.)CONSULTATION: Your doctor will talk to you, thoroughly review your health history, and determine if yours is a chiropractic case. You will have time to discuss your health concerns with him.
2.)VIDEO: To acquaint you with our office and explain how we help our patients regain their health, most patients view a four minute video.
3.)EXAMINATION: Standard physical, orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic tests will be performed to determine the cause(s) of your problem. If you are in extreme pain, your doctor will assist you in its relief until your findings have been completed.
4.)X-RAYS: Necessary views may be taken to visualize the location of any spinal problems, reveal any pathologies, and make your chiropractic care more precise. Before safe and proper care can be rendered, your doctor will study your examination findings. On your next visit you will see your x-rays, review the doctor's findings and get his specific care recommendation.
5.)FUTURE VISITS: Your first visit is complete. Plan to spend about 30 minutes on your next visit to receive your doctor's report of findings and a chiropractic adjustment. Details regarding treatment, expectations, prognosis, health care coverage, financial issues, etc. will be discussed in detail before your case is accepted for treatment.
